"Without a doubt I would have to say that the Grand Theatre Academy gave me the self confidence and belief that is essential for every actor when they are starting out...without this I most certainly would not have been able to realise my ambition of being a professional actor."

The Grand Theatre Academy is the only academy and theatre school to work within an actual live theatre on the Fylde coast.
The GTA offers three very special working groups Juniors (11-14 yrs) Seniors (15-18yrs) and Adults (19-25yrs).
Our aim, to provide the knowledge you will need to move forward and like some of our students break ground in stage and entertainment circles. We don't just aim to be the best we know we are and our previous and current students will tell you.
The ethos behind the Academy is to nurture and develop individual talent and provide students with the opportunity to explore their skills working with a range of professional practitioners. Academy director, Paul David-Gough, says: "It really is about looking at each member as an individual. Trying to concentrate on refining what technical acting ability they already have and opening their eyes to a wider, more diverse approach
to theatre and its related arts." In addition students frequently perform small
"sharings" of project work. So how do we convince you? To be honest we don't, prior to audition you speak directly with our students and hear what they have to say, they are our voice! Many schools will tell you this, and that, preaching they are the best. We let you judge for yourself which is why we have one of the biggest audition lists in the North West.
Practices. The GTA is governed by some of the safest practices. All our teachers are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked and we have guidelines for both teachers, students and parents. All our polices are available for download on this website.
How do you join? The first step is to meet and chat with our current company members this gives you a true feeling of what it is like to join us direct from the people who are actually working in the company. We will then ask you to audition, a simple process but as our places are limited this is a requirement.
